Studies have proven that sending 3 patient statements and making a phone call to the patient collects less than 40% of what is due your practice. Applying one payment methodology to a diverse patient population does little to solve this problem. Patients pay or don't pay for a multitude of reasons. Finding those reasons and applying a treatment plan to that segment of the population is the best method to boost payments. Treatment protocols can be created for any number of identified patient segments. Examples would include willingness vs. ability to pay, location, rendering provider, etc.
